Alessia Cara – How Far I’ll Go

Alessia Cara lends her powerful pipes to “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s animated film Moana.

Written by Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda, the empowering anthem allows the Canadian songstress to deliver outstanding vocals about overcoming adversity to reach for goals.

“See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me,” she sings. “And no one knows, how far it goes / If the wind on my sail sea stays behind me / One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go”

In the film version by Auli’i Cravalho, who voices the title character, this song depicts the moment where Moana decides to break out of her expected path in life and to pursue her dreams. This version appears during the ending credits, performed by Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara.

The music video for the song, featuring Cara, was released on November 3, 2016. Moana was released in U.S. theaters on November 23, 2016.
